Riyadh University of Arts Opens Applications in May, Begins Classes in September
Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Riyadh University of Arts (RUA) Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan announced that applications and registration for RUA will open in May, with classes set to begin in September.The university will offer a wide range of academic specializations designed to empower students to enrich the creative industries and further advance Saudi Arabia thriving cultural sector.The minister of culture said: We are proud to launch Riyadh University of Arts as an extraordinary step in further advancing Saudi Arabia cultural sector. This institution will serve as a cornerstone for creative education and cultural innovation, enabling our students to acquire the skills, knowledge, and vision that will shape the Kingdoms cultural future, adding: Through this pioneering university, we empower Saudi artists and creators to leave their unique mark on the cultural stage.The university will cultivate an innovative education environment that empowers students to discover their passions, further develop their talents, encourage creativity, and contribute to the creative economy. RUA will cater to educational levels through gradual phasing, covering all subsectors and offering a comprehensive academic portfolio that ensures continuous education in the fields of arts and culture. RUAs academic offerings include short courses, diplomas, bachelors, higher diplomas, masters, and PhDs.RUA campuses will be located in the city of Riyadh. When classes commence in September, the university will welcome students across four initial colleges and eight academic programs offered under the Colleges of Music, Film, Theater and Performing Arts, and Cultural Management. RUA will then gradually expand to a total of 13 colleges, offering a diverse range of academic programs across various cultural sectors and disciplines.RUA has also built partnerships with leading international institutions to design academic programs, collaborate in research, and offer enriching programs in cultural education and development. These partnerships also contribute to further development of talent by fostering creativity and advancing entrepreneurial skills among artists, researchers, and cultural leaders.RUA will offer scholarships for its first cohort of students, with further details to be announced when admissions open in May.
