Andrew Sullivan

Biography
Andrew Sullivan is a senior arts academic leader with extensive international experience across higher education, conservatoires, and the professional performing arts sector. His work spans academic leadership, curriculum design, and practice-based arts education, with a particular focus on vocal training, musical theatre, and the integration of professional practice within academic frameworks.
Through leadership roles across the UK and internationally, Andrew has contributed to the development, validation, and review of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that integrate artistic excellence, academic rigour, and inclusive teaching practice. He has worked as a voice coach and musical director with institutions including LAMDA, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, and Guildford School of Acting, and established the BA Musical Theatre programme at Sharjah Performing Arts Academy (UAE). His international consultancy includes work with the UAE Ministry of Education (Masterpieces Program) and the Theatre and Performing Arts Commision through Spears Theatre Arts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Alongside his academic leadership, he has maintained an active professional practice across musical direction, conducting, vocal coaching, specialist voice work, and composition, working with leading theatre, broadcast, and live performance organisations including Bill Kenwright Ltd, Really Useful Productions, ITV Studios, and the BBC, as well as major UK performance venues and conservatoires.
Andrew Sullivan holds a master’s degree in Voice and Singing Studies from the University of Surrey, is a Senior Fellow of AdvanceHE and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and has served as an external examiner and academic advisor across international conservatoires, supporting academic standards and professional training excellence in the performing arts.
